A birthday letter for a dear daughter!

Happy Birthday, Nicole!

My dearest Nicole,

Twelve years ago coupled with twelve hours of labor --- I brought you into this world! At first I can't believe how God can give me such a beautiful gift? I must have done something good in this world for me to deserve such a beauty!

I promised the One who gave you to me that I will take care of you, to love you dearly like my most precious possession.

As you cry at night, I would wake up and let you lie sleepily in my bosom. When illness bothers you, I would lie awake til dawn until your fever would subside. When you first entered school, I tried so hard to scribble your lessons so you won’t have a hard time studying. I will do everything to nurture you and make you safe!

As my first born, I have to deal with adjustments of being young mom. I’ve had my bloopers and blunders – but as I look at you today, I know I have done a good job!

Life may not be easy for us, but I try to be tough for you to grow strong. As you turn twelve, I know little by little, you will encounter life’s frustration. Let me offer myself once again, to listen to your cares, to hold your hand, and to wipe your tears away.

May the Lord continue to send His guardian angel to guard and protect you.
