Isn't he sweet?

We spent the whole day last Sunday at my mom’s house. The house helps went out on a day off so I decided it was best for the kids and I to stay with my siblings and mom. Hubby needed to finish a presentation so it was perfect for him to be all alone at home, so he can focus more without any interruption.

At around 4pm, as I was taking a siesta, I was awakened by my son giving me my mobile phone. On the other end was my hubby and so I asked, “Why?” My hubby was confused with my question; apparently it was my son who called him. I told hubby that I will call him back.

I asked my son, “Why did you call Papa?” He replied, “I just wanted to make sure that he has food for dinner.” Awww, isn’t that sweet? My sister upon hearing his reply asked him, “If I’m all alone at home, will you also think of me not having food?” My son just smiled in reply.

My son knows that my hubby can not fend for himself. He got worried because he knows the house helps are not yet home. So I assured him that will go home and bring food for Papa.

At 10 years old, I was so touched at his gesture. That sweet moment is a rewarding experience as a parent. Call me petty or anything but it was truly a “moment” for me. It made me reflect on teachings that we have provided them -- we must be doing something good? If you are a mom or a dad, wouldn’t you feel proud of how sweet your child is?

I relayed the whole story to my hubby and he got all mushy and hugged my boy. (Well, hubs is not a mushy person except when he is with the kids).
