Each child has his or her own talents and skills, not because their siblings they should have the same interest. Just like any individual, we are have our own unique talents and skills.
Having two kids with extremely different interests, I have learned to observe, respect and nurture each of my kid's unique abilities.
By observing them you get to know their special interest - together you and your child will discover what things they are good at and subsequently nurture it. Did you know that this is one way of boosting their self - esteem? Yes, fostering a child's special skills make them feel good about themselves.
This will have a great impact on their success in the future. As an HR practitioner, the word "competency" plays a great deal in an individuals performance on the job. You see by developing a hobby, your child will acquire the skills and knowledge in doing the particular activity as such they are considered "competent". Most psychology experts always relates a person's success or failure to his childhood experience.
Remember all children are unique. Make sure that you help them learn and enjoy the things they are good in turn they will feel good about themselves. Just be there for your child....
My daughter who loves to dance and wants to learn to play the guitar. She's now part of her school's cheer leading team and studies how to play the guitar on her own...
While my son loves to play with paint and plays the piano -- sorry don't have a photo of him playing the piano.
