I woke up very early this morning very excited to cast my vote as the first automated election in the Philippines unfolds. True, I have a lot of apprehensions regarding this election process, knowing that it can still be subjected to a lot of cheating but I have faith... faith in the Filipino people and in GOD.
It was my first time to vote here in Manila after being a resident of Laguna and I have to give special mention to the volunteers and PPCRV for thinking of ways to make it more convenient for people to wait for their turn.
This is the cluster holding area where the voters wait for their turn to get inside the precinct...
They also have the voter’s list, in case you don’t know what precinct number you belong to.
This is an actual Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) Machine, which I was able to take a photo before its actual use in one of the precincts.
I tagged my daughter along so she can take photos while I am inside the voting precinct. She took this photo of me while I was casting my vote. It took me less than five minutes to do it.
Success! I am finally done. Seeing this photo of mine, I believe I need a quick trim and fast. Those extra pounds are really showing.
Although a lot of people are experiencing a lot of inconvenience regarding the long lines, the slow process but overall I think the voter's turnout are very good. People are still eager to exercise their right to vote. And yes, it feels good to have done our duty as citizens of this country.
