Just like blogging, I got into photography because I wanted to journal my kid's growing up years. In my photography blog, I mentioned that I never had pictures of me growing up which became my inspiration to go into photography. I can remember doing a slideshow of our very first out of town trip as a family. A friend of ours even asked why I had to put so much time in doing it. My only reply was, "Nothing, I just love documenting my kid's photos."
Since then, my passion for photography has leveled up. I acquired my first DSLR last year, learned the basics of photography and a crash course in Photoshop. No, I am not yet an expert but I'd love to call myself as a wannabe.
Photography, aside from writing, has been a creative outlet for me. If my time and finances permit it, I'd love to go further. It's now more than documentation and a hobby, it's an art.
